LINK2GOV NAMES U.S. COMMERCE OFFICIAL EVERETTE JAMES TO EXECUTIVE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AND ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL POSTS

Bolsters Company's Political Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (February 25, 2000) – Richardson M. Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Link2Gov.com, Inc, today announced that the Company has named a widely-respected Clinton Administration official, A. Everette James, to serve as Executive Vice-President for Government Affairs and Associate General Counsel.  In this new position, Mr. James will be responsible for government strategy and managing the Company's contract relationships with key political leaders and consultants.  Link2Gov is one of the nation's pre-eminent providers of advanced e-government solutions that enable citizens and businesses to complete transactions with the government over the Internet or telephone.

As Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for Service Industries and Finance, Mr. James managed the federal programs set up to assist U.S. service sector firms to win business overseas.  In this capacity, he helped numerous telecommunications, financial services and information technology firms negotiate with governments and secure contracts worth billions of dollars.  Mr. James represented the Department of Commerce on the Board of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, was Co-Chair of the NAFTA Financial Services Committee and was elected Chair of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Working Party on Private Pensions.

Representing the interests of the U.S. information services firms, Mr. James also served on the federal Information Infrastructure Task Force and Electronic Commerce Working Group.  During his tenure in government, he is credited for rebuilding the Commerce Department's Office of Finance, earning it the Outstanding Organization Award in 1999.
