NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2000--System Provides Faster, Easier and More Convenient Alternative to Traditional Methods at Lower Cost to the City of Mobile

Richardson M. Roberts, President and Chief Executive Officer of LINK2GOV Corp., today announced a contract with the City of Mobile, Alabama, under which it has developed and is operating an Internet system designed to enable citizens to pay parking tickets over the Internet. The system is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week by going to www.ci.mobile.al.us and following the simple directions. Citizens can pay their parking ticket using their credit card for a small fee per transaction.

Mr. Roberts said, "This contract is another example of the potential for the Internet to fundamentally change how people and businesses interact with federal, state and municipal government. By developing this Internet system for the City of Mobile, we are helping the city achieve two fundamental goals. First, we are improving citizens' access to government, not only by providing them an on-line method for handling their parking ticket payments, but also because of the extensive information and links related to the City of Mobile that are available on the site. Second, we are substantially lowering the processing cost to Mobile for each parking ticket paid through the site compared with manual methods. We look forward to working with the City of Mobile in this application as well as to discussing opportunities to pursue additional ways to help Mobile streamline government transactions with people and business."

Michael C. Dow, the Mayor of Mobile, added, "We also are very enthusiastic about electronically automating the payment of traffic tickets in Mobile. While traditional options remain available to those people without Internet access, we believe an increasing number of people will be drawn to the Internet alternative because it is so quick and easy to use. This program is just one of a number of Internet initiatives underway for the City of Mobile, and we are excited about the potential benefits to both citizens and government of bringing more government-to-citizen and government-to-business transactions on line."
