LINK2GOV
CEO, RICH ROBERTS, TO PARTICIPATE ON PANEL ABOUT THE NEW
ECONOMY AND ITS IMPACT ON THE CHANGING ROLES AND RELATIONSHIPS
AMONG BUSINESS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENT
Dialogue Presented by The Conference Board, Council on
Foundations, Independent Sector, National Academy of Public
Administration, National Alliance of Business and National
GovernorsÕ Association
NASHVILLE,
Tenn. Š (June 15, 2000) Š LINK2GOV Corp. announced that
Richardson M. Roberts, President and Chief Executive Officer,
is participating as a panel member at A Dialogue with
Leaders being held today in Washington, D.C. Hosted by
The Conference Board, Council on Foundations, Independent
Sector, National Academy of Public Administration, National
Alliance of Business and National GovernorsÕ Association,
A Dialogue with Leaders focuses on the New Economy and
its impact on the changing roles and relationships among
business, nonprofit organizations and government.
These
organizations, which are representative of business, government
and the nonprofit sector, have joined together to address
the powerful social, economic, technological and philosophical
changes that are confronting society. Their goal is to
help institutions in all three sectors work together more
effectively to accomplish public purposes common to them
all and to society as a whole. Joining Mr. Roberts on
the panel to discuss these issues are The Honorable Jeanne
Shaheen, Governor of the State of New Hampshire; Jay T.
Harris, Publisher, San Jose Mercury News; Janice Kreamer,
President and CEO, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation;
and Raymond Sheppach, Executive Director, National GovernorsÕ
Association. Chris Gates, President, National Civic League,
will moderate the panel discussion.
Mr.
Roberts commented, "Fundamental changes in technology,
communications, the global economy and the power and role
of government are changing the historical roles and relationships
among business, government and the nonprofit sector. Through
its business, LINK2GOV is fully engaged in this transition,
and its efforts to make government more efficient and
accessible to citizens are dependent in part on the pace
and depth of these changes. One of the key concerns of
A Dialogue with Leaders is the growing "digital divide"
between people with Internet access and those without
access. By providing systems that electronically automate
government transactions using either the Internet or the
telephone, we believe we are helping government close
this divide. I am delighted to have the opportunity to
address this and other issues as a panelists in A Dialogue
with Leaders and welcome the opportunity to participate
with sponsoring organizations that have such a distinguished
history of helping to shape the national consensus."
