NASHVILLE,
Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2000--
Richardson M. Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of LINK2GOV
Corp., today announced the signing of a new contract with
the Game and Fish Department of the State of New Mexico.
Under the contract, LINK2GOV will operate an interactive
voice response ("IVR") telephone system that will enable
citizens to access the results of drawings the Game and
Fish Department conducts each year to determine participation
in special hunts. Results for the initial special hunt
draw, which is for all species except antelope rifle and
muzzle loader hunts, will be available beginning June
14, 2000, and results for the antelope hunt draw will
be available beginning July 17, 2000. In total, the Game
and Fish Department received approximately 99,000 applications
for this year's special hunt drawings.
Mr.
Roberts commented, "We are pleased to be working with
the Game and Fish Department on this new contract, which
represents our initial contract in New Mexico. This application
is identical to the Game and Fish application we provide
for Arizona as well as dozens of additional IVR and/or
Internet-based contracts we operate for other state and
municipal government agencies throughout the country.
We expect the Game and Fish Department's new IVR system
to provide hunt draw applicants with a convenient, simple
and fast method for obtaining results, while improving
the overall efficiency of the program. Citizens can access
this 800-based IVR system at any time, night or day, by
dialing 877-3NM-HUNT from any touch-tone telephone and
following the easy directions. As with most of LINK2GOV's
contracts, we developed this system for the Game and Fish
Department free of charge. Citizens accessing the system
will be charged $5.00 per use."
Luke
Shelby, Chief of Public Affairs for the Department of
Game and Fish of New Mexico added, "Our special hunt draws
are among the most important events that the Game and
Fish Department undertakes each year, and we work very
hard to provide all hunt applicants with a high quality
experience. Based on our analysis of other similar contracts
that LINK2GOV operates, we believe LINK2GOV will play
an integral role in helping us communicate with hunt applicants
expeditiously and efficiently."
