Florida Citizens Now
Able to Renew
Vehicle Registration Via Telephone
Tallahassee Florida, April 10, 2001 -- Florida motor
vehicle owners can now conveniently renew their vehicle
registration via telephone through an Interactive Voice
Response (IVR) system developed for the Florida Department
of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles by Link2Gov Corporation.
For a nominal fee of $3.50, Florida citizens can now
call the toll free number 1-866-GO-RENEW (1.866.467.3639)
to renew any of their motor vehicle registrations. This
renewal service includes cars, trucks, vessels, commercial
vehicles, disabled parking placards and mobile homes.
"We are very pleased to partner with the state
of Florida to offer this convenient option for citizens,"
said Ed Braswell, Executive Vice President of Link2Gov.
"Through this program, we are providing a service
that allows citizens to save time. Now, Floridians can
actually renew their registration from the comfort of
their own home or place of work 24 hours a day, seven
days a week."
The process of renewal by phone will take less than
four minutes when calling 1-866-GO RENEW. To complete
the transaction, the caller will need their renewal
notice, which has a personal identification number (PIN)
on it, a personal check or credit card, and a pen and
paper. The automated service will guide the caller through
the process.
"Link2Gov is happy to be expanding its services
for the citizens of Florida," said Braswell. "We
take pride in providing leading edge technology solutions
for Florida residents so they can complete their government-related
transactions, such as renewing motor vehicle registrations,
with ease."
