Monday, 11/4/2002 — Nashville-based Link2Gov
Corp. signed a contract Monday with the state of North
Dakota that will allow taxpayers in the Roughrider State
to pay their taxes online or over the phone with a credit
card.
NashvillePost.com also has learned that Link2Gov recently
signed a contract with the state of New York for electronic
payment processing of state income taxes online.
Those two significant new contracts follow on the heels
of recent agreements Link2Gov brokered with the state
of Kentucky and the city of Chattanooga. Link2Gov currently
offers services to Metro Government. The e-Government
technology solutions provider was selected by the IRS
in May to process federal tax payments beginning in
January 2003.
North Dakota State Tax Commissioner Rick Clayburgh,
a candidate for U.S. Congress, made the announcement
regarding Link2Gov today.
Taxpayers choosing to pay their North Dakota income
tax with a credit card will be charged a 2.49 percent
"convenience" fee by Link2Gov to process the
credit card transactions.
Link2Gov President Tom Tarver acknowledged Monday that
his company's recent string of successes "proves
we've got the right product mix and the right people
to get traction in this marketplace."
